Professor Evangelia Charmandari carries out her clinical work as a Professor of Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology at the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes, First Department of Pediatrics, “Aghia Sophia” Children’s Hospital, Athens, Greece. She manages children and adolescents with all endocrine conditions attending the Out-patient Clinics (6000 per year), as well as inpatients with associated endocrine disorders. Special Out-patient Clinics include those of growth and puberty, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, adrenal, gonadal and thyroid disorders, obesity and diabetes mellitus.

She is the Scientific Supervisor and Coordinator of the Research Programs entitled ‘Development of a National System for the Prevention and Management of Obesity in Childhood and Adolescence’, and ‘Artificial Intelligence Algorithms for Personalized Management of Obesity in Childhood and Adolescence’, which are funded by the European Union and the General Secretariat of Research and Development, Greece.

Professor Evangelia Charmandari also consults patients with conditions spanning over the whole spectrum of Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology in her private Out-patient Clinic.
